Saved Searches

The TLG allows you to save searches so that you can return to them later. Saved Canon Searches and Text Searches are stored in your account and are available from the My Account page.

1. How to save a search

The save option is available from the Canon and Text Search pages.

  1. Run or prepare the search you want to keep.
  2. Use the Save control on the relevant search page.
  3. The saved search is added to your account.
Note: The previous TLG interface allowed up to 10 saved searches. If this limit has changed on the new site, the current interface should be treated as authoritative.

2. Finding your saved searches

Open the account menu at the upper right of the TLG site and choose Manage your account. The My Saved Searches panel appears on the right side of the My Account page.

3. Working with a saved search

When searches have been saved, the account page provides the controls associated with them. The earlier TLG help documentation describes the following functions:

Control Function
Restore Restores a saved search so that you can return to it.
Annotation Allows you to add your own note to a saved search and save the annotation.
Edit Allows a saved search to be modified; the revised results can be saved as a new search.
Delete Permanently removes a saved search that is no longer needed.
Date Shows the date on which the search was saved.

4. Canon Searches and Text Searches

Canon Searches

Preserve selections made while working with the TLG Canon.

Text Searches

Preserve searches made through Text Search so that they can be revisited later.

The two types are kept in separate sections under My Saved Searches, making it easy to identify the kind of search you want to restore.
