how to subscribe, unsubscribe and send messages
to a discussion group (usually called LISTSERVs or LISTPROC):
Every LISTSERV-based maling list has two email addresses: the address for the
LISTSERV itself (used for requests) and the address of the mailing list (used
to post messages to the entire Discussion group).
To subscribe to a LISTSERV: send the message "subscribe
[the name of the LISTSERV] (your name)"(without the brackets) to the
LISTSERV address
e.g. subscribe latin-l (Jane Smith) to listserv@psuvm.psu.edu
*Keep in
mind that a computer is handling your request.
*Leave the subject line blank.
*Your name may or may not be necessary.
To post a message for all members of the discussion group:
send your message to the address of the mailing list.
e.g. latin-l@psuvm.psu.edu
To unsubscribe from a LISTSERV:
send the message "unsubscribe [the name of the LISTSERV] (your
name)"(without the brackets)
to the LISTSERV address
e.g. unsubscribe latin-L (Jane Smith) to listserv@psuvm.psu.edu
