A few tips on how to subscribe, unsubscribe and send messages to a discussion group


  1. AEGEANet is a discussion group on matters pertaining to the Aegean world of pre-classical times, including paleolithic, neolithic, Bronze Age, Geometric and Homeric). To subscribe write to majordomo@acpub.duke.edu with the message "subscribe aegeanet your e-mail address," or simply "subscribe aegeanet."

  2. ACL BBS is an unmoderated mailing list aimed at issues of relevance and interest to ACL members and friends. To subscribe write to majordomo@rome. classics.lsa.umich.edu with the message "subscribe acl your name."

  3. ACTS-L is a forum for the discussion of the Acts ofthe Apostles and the critical issues surrounding them. This list was originally created for members of a course on the Acts offered at St.Paul's University in Ottawa.   12. ARISTOTLE-POLITICAL and ARISTOTLE-POLITICS-READING are two lists designed to reflect on Aristotle's political works.   13. The BIBLICAL LANGUAGE STANDARDS mailing list is a forum for discussion and announcements concerning the ongoing work of the SBL Seminar on Electronic Standards for Biblical Language Texts. The list is moderated but participation and subscription is open to biblical scholars of all viewpoints, publishers and software developers.   14. B-GREEK,formerly NT-GREEK, is a discussion group for Biblical Greek. You may SUBSCRIBE by sending an e-mail message to b-greek-request@franklin.oit.unc.edu with the following request as the text of the message "SUBSCRIBE B-GREEK" If you want to subscribe to only a digested version of the list, then give the command "SUBSCRIBE B-GREEK-DIGEST" You can be subscribed to both the immediate version and the digestedversion of the list at the same time.

  17. CANE-L, is the electronic mail discussion group for the Classical Association of New England. It serves as an electronic forum to share information of interest to the members of CANE, including news and announcements and discussion of various Classics topics. CTI-TEXTUAL STUDIES is a moderated list used by the CTI (Computers in Teaching Initiative) Center for Textual Studies to disseminate information of interest to academics who use computers in the teaching of literature, philosophy, logic, religious studies, classics, film studies, theatre arts and drama.   26. ETEXTCTR, a discussion group on electronic text centers, is a moderated list meant to cover broad issues related to the management, training and development of electronic texts in general.   27. EXLIBRIS is a discussion on rare books and special collections. To subscribe write to listserv@rutvm1.bitnet with the message "subscribe exlibris your name."

  28. GRADCURR is a discussion list about issues pertaining to graduate education in Classics. To subscribe send a note to gradcurr@ccat.sas.upenn.edu with no subject line and the message "subscribe gradcurr". You can also subscribe to the list directly from the Graduate Education in Classics Home Page.

  29. GREEKWEB is a mailing list about the Greek contributions in the World-Wide Web, including announcements of new infoservices, presentation of any recent advancement on the Web, HTML, etc. To subscribe send an e-mail to:listproc@demokritos.cc.duth.gr with the message "subscribe GREEKWEB First_Name Last_Name."

  30. Gromarch is a a joint list for GREEKARCH and ROMARCH. GROMARCH subscribers receive postings belonging to both the ROMARCH and GREEKARCH lists. Messages are marked according to which list they come from so users can be sure about the originating list. To subscribe to GROMARCH send the message "subscribe gromarch " to rome-arch-subscribe@egroups.com or greek-arch-subscribe@egroups.com.

  31. HOMER-L is a list offered by the Center for Studies in Oral Tradition at the University of Missouri-Columbia. It is intended to provide a forum for discussion with respect to meter, theme, formula, origins, oral traditional qualities, and any other aspect of Ancient Greek epic.   34. ICONOGRAPHIE is an unmoderated list for the discussion of ancient Greek art and iconography. List information is available at http://www.rdg.ac.uk/Classics/iconographie/.   36. Introduction to Greek List is a discussion group for students of introductory Greek. Each list is intended to support serious philosophical inquiry by careful, slow readings of the works of a single philosopher or a single work of philosophy.   54. PROSOP-L is an unmoderated list that provides a discussion forum for topics relating to Ancient, Byzantine, and Mediaeval Prosopography. Romiosyni-L The intended focus of ROMIOSYNI-L is to host scholarly discussions on the history and culture of the Eastern Roman ("Byzantine") Empire and neighboring regions from the 4th century and throughout the post-Roman ("post-Byzantine") phase into modern times. It therefore extends to cultural and historical issues pertaining to the memory of the said empire as it survived among the Ottoman Empire's "Rum Millet" and the RhomÚic/Eastern diaspora. The scope of discussions is inherently broad and diversified. It includes themes of general historical interest and topics of specialized interest such as history of science and medicine, monastic typika, literature, comparative law, religious (psaltic) and secular music, architecture and hagiography, printing press and cartography, and the history of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
