Latin Accented Transliteration Test
The Latin accented transliteration used here is based on the unaccented transliteration; it uses the standard Western European accents (acute, grave, circumflex) to render their Greek equivalents, and uses = as a length marker.
The following refinements apply:
- Digamma and stigma are transcribed as w.
- Koppa is transcribed as q.
- Sampi is transcribed as ç.
A| (alpha with iota subscript) is differentiated from AI (alpha iota); while the latter is rendered as ai, the former is rendered with a long a, as a=i.
- The coronis is rendered as an apostrophe; the rough coronis as an apostrophe followed by h. Thus,
TOU)RGON is rendered as t'ourgon, not tourgon, and XW(S as ch'ho=s, not cho=s.
- After a diaeresis, the accent is rendered as a spacing character:
ï´, ï`, ï^,
