The Thesaurus Linguae Graecae® frequently receives requests for information about the availability of hardware or software resources designed to facilitate the use of TLG® texts on a CD ROM. The TLG itself supplies neither hardware nor software. We are aware, however, that tools for using the TLG CD ROM have been developed by the sources listed below.
The TLG® has not had an opportunity to use or test all of the resources mentioned, and inclusion of a given source in the list does not constitute TLG endorsement of this source. No claim is made that the list is all-inclusive. Please make sure that use of these programs does not violate the TLG® License Agreement

Antiquarium 2 is a computer program (a "shell") for browsing and searching the TLG® and PHI disks under Windows 2000 or XP. Small in size, it does not require full-scale installation, nor does it write anything in the Windows system folders. It relies mostly on the Unicode Palatino Linotype font, with extra symbols added (provided with the distribution set).
Antiquarium 2 allows browsing and fast searching through the TLG® and PHI databases and is capable of displaying all Betacode symbols. The searching approach for Antiquarium 2 has been drastically enhanced. Options include logic operators, spelling tables (when orthography varies), wildcards '*' and '?', etc. Smart phrase search allows determining the outer lines context. If you copy a selected text and paste it to another Windows application (should support Unicode), the formatting stays completely intact. Optionally you can copy the citation along with the text selection. Antiquarium 2 generates search result reports that can be saved or printed. Antiquarium 2 Antiquarium 2 makes full use of the TLG® Index (showing its rubrics in a hierarchical tree-view) and the TLG® Word List included in the TLG® CD ROM. It is also linked to the electronic Liddell-Scott dictionary and users can get an English translation for any selected Greek word with a single keystroke.
Detailed information and a demo version (including a free Greek font), are available at the Antiquarium website.

(Please note that the license agreement for use of TLG materials places restrictions on this sort of usage. You need to have a site license in order to download part or all of the TLG databank). OFFLOAD may be
obtained electronically via the CCAT Gopher server in exchange for a donation to CCAT External Services, University of Pennsylvania. For more information please contact:
